Not a drill
It’s all a metaphor for the economic crisis in the 90s and the concerned youth at the impossible challenge of financial and inter social stability. All of it, individual representations of aspects of japans economic collapse and then political and social reform. Not the glamorous stuff on the news, the gritty underside they’d never let you see. This is just the tip of the iceberg but he showed me receipts

My German ancestor found this postcard belonging to a fallen WW1 soldier (Battle of Loos 1915) - I recently returned it to his grave
From the book ‘The Other Trench: The WW1 Diary & Photos of a German Officer’
During the Battle of Loos in 1915, my German great-great grandfather (company-commander Alexander Pfeifer) found this postcard on a fallen Scottish soldier named Joseph Andrew Langford. Prior to this, Alexander took command of the area named ‘Mad Point’ by the British, which inflicted severe casualties on the Scottish troops. Despite a few Scots breaking into the German line, the vast majority were completely gunned down.
As Alexander says in his diary: “At least 500 dead and wounded Scots lie in front of my company section alone”. This postcard was picked up during the many days of battle and has been within my family in Germany for over 100 years. It is assumed that, because the soldier has a headstone, his equipment and belongings were left behind before he retreated and was later killed within British lines. After all this time and research, I visited the battlefield site and returned this postcard back to where it all started.

Casual Really tired of this negative offseason fodder. This is the greatest coach in NFL history.
Without Tom, BB maybe wins another one or two Super Bowls with the roster we had in the early 2000’s. Without Bill, who really knows if Tom even gets a fair shot.
3 Super Bowls leaned heavy on our offense, 3 Super Bowls leaned heavy on our defense. All of them revolved around player development and strategy from this guy.
I’m hoping BB is successful at UNC, but if he isn’t, I’d want him to retire from coaching and have Kraft build a statue of him and Tommy. Now 83, I’m hoping it’s done before RKK dies.

Anime This is when I should've realized I was watching a villain's origin story, not a hero's
I didn't notice it till this current rewatch, but I should've realized upon first watch that Eren being let down this horrifically for believing in "the power of friendship" meant that I was watching a negative change arc not a positive or flat one, and the story was setting him up as the final villain not the ultimate hero.
